HOTELS
Hotel check-in time is generally 14:00 and check-out time by 12:00. Please be sure that adequate arrangements for accommodations have been taken into consideration when a late night flight is being used.
WIFI
Many hotels now have free wifi throughout the building whilst others have only in public areas. There are some hotels however that still do not have a free service and there is a charge to connect to the internet.
ELECTRICITY
The Israeli power supply is 220 volts AC, 50 cycles. An adaptor, usually 3-pin, is necessary but majority of them work with the European double-pin plug.
SHABBAT
From Sunset on Friday until Saturday evening, Sabbath is celebrated throughout Israel. Different cultures and different cities in Israel celebrate in their own unique way. In most cities all shops, markets, businesses and restaurants are closed from Friday around 14:00. In cities such as Tel Aviv there are many small super markets open to cater to the many tourists and in almost every city you will find some restaurants that stay open during this period.
VAT REFUND
It is possible to receive a refund on VAT (currently 17%) for a tourist (who is not an Israeli citizen and does not hold an Israeli passport). Eligibility for a VAT refund is conditional on several conditions and you should ask your tour manager to provide more information. VAT refund is available prior to check in.
